<p>PhotoReading works differently. It is seeing a whole page at a time and &#8216;storing&#8217; the relevant information you need and then recalling it as and when you need it.</p>



<p>Most widely used with age ranges from 13 upwards, it has a success rate of over 90%; which for a home study course (or seminar attendee) on a whole new system, is astonishing! People find themselves able to reach &#8216;speeds&#8217; (turning a page a second) of around 25,000 words a minute.</p>



<p>This takes a bit of building up, the techniques require practice, the mental belief system requires strengthening and the stages require understanding; but it&#8217;s all achievable for the vast majority! It just takes practice and a willingness to want to blast though reading material and grasp new subjects at a rapid pace.</p>



<p>Those who have practised this, including celebrity TV people who deal with psychology, entertainment and mental agility find they can easily exceed those targets of 25,000 words a minute.</p>



<p><strong>System</strong></p>



<p>The PhotoReading system is broken down into 5 clear stages, each one with a purpose and with its own unique skills.</p>



<p><strong>First Stage: Preparation</strong></p>



<p>Getting mentally prepared. This is where a lot of people fail when learning new techniques; they don&#8217;t take time to relax, focus, gain clarity and set the mind a purpose. That is the key to allowing the new information to be proceed by the brain when the brain knows what it is you want from the information.</p>



<p>To achieve this you can</p>



<p>A. Use a mind programming recording that programs both hemispheres of the brain, which not only prepares the brain for learning, instils confidence and totally relaxes the mind, but it also helps with memory retention, or</p>



<p>B. You can just relax, breath deep, focus &#8211; there is a wonderful focusing technique in the PhotoReading (involving fruit!).</p>



<p>When you are ready, just focus in on what is is you want to get out of the information and let that dwell in the mind.</p>



<p>This whole process only needs to take a couple of minutes, or longer if you use a recording.</p>



<p><strong>Second Stage: Preview</strong></p>



<p>This is where you &#8216;pre-read&#8217; the material. This is vital as it allows the conscious mind connect with the subconscious mind. It allows your mind to understand the structure of the material, subject matter and key elements. This is a vital part, so when you PhotoRead (Third Stage), the information is blasted into your mind and this preview stage allows the the subconscious mind to process it properly as it has learnt at a conscious level what it is about.</p>



<p>This process only takes a minute or two at the most and becomes second nature as you go through the training. This process is more essential with books, academic works (things with a more complex structure) and less so with single short articles.</p>



<p><strong>Third Stage: PhotoReading</strong></p>



<p>You are now at the meat of the course, this is what is is all about. Your belief is in place, your mind is prepared to learn and your conscious mind knows the structure and outline of what you are about to read. Now dive in…</p>



<p>You do not read the words, you do not focus on the lines, you do not see the sentences; you absorb each page as you flip though the book, at around one page a second. You keep a steady rhythm. Your focal point is not on the pages but beyond them.</p>



<p>A magazine article that could take 10-15 minutes to read with your normal technique, can be done in a minute. An average book would be around 4-5 minutes.</p>



<p><strong>Fourth Stage: Postview</strong></p>



<p>This is the stage where you reinforce the information at a conscious level, e.g. your eyes are back to &#8216;seeing&#8217; the words on a page.</p>



<p>You go through the book again noting keywords, words that stand out, key terms and create questions in your mind.</p>



<p><em>Stage Two</em> is knowing the structure, <em>Stage Three</em> is just blasting it on &#8211; like turning a tap on full to fill a sink as fast as it can, now this stage is all about getting the key elements, questions and sections of note that stand out for you.</p>



<p><strong>Stage Five: Activation</strong></p>



<p>This is where you embed everything from the previous stages.</p>



<p>New techniques such as &#8216;rapid reading&#8217; and &#8216;super reading&#8217; are taught. The latter is similar to speed reading, but it gets better results as it is embedded with all of the stages.</p>



<p>You go over the material that you PhotoRead, that you did a postview on and you get an additional layer of understanding embedded in your mind. Your conscious mind is connecting with the subconscious (that you used in <em>Stage Three</em>) and develops further links of understanding and comprehension.</p>



<p><strong>Congratulations!</strong></p>



<p>These stages, once completed, will have had you learning, processing and absorbing information at such rapid rates you will be able to catch up with your reading, get on top of your studies or devour new subjects. Or, if you prefer, just catch up with all of the words from an author you would like to learn about.</p>



<p>It&#8217;s now up to you to make a start and learn something new that will change your life, change the way you take information in and learn techniques &#8211; so powerful &#8211; you will be applying them to other areas of you life!</p>

<p>Speed reading evolved in from research in the 1940s and then popularised by Evelyn Wood. It uses the traditional reading techniques, left to right, from top to bottom and developing letters, words and sentences into paragraphs, sections and then the message. However, to get the speed required you go for phrases, whole lines, and sections/paragraphs. It primarily is a conscious activity using the left-brain function.</p>



<p>PhotoReading rose from research into non-conscious learning and involving the right brain activity as well to develop a more whole brain learning. After research in the 1970&#8217;s and 1980&#8217;s, it evolved into a process where you take the whole page in at a time and you use your brain as the reading tool and the eyes retain a fixed focus (and not going through the linear and horizontal process of traditionally reading a page).</p>



<p>So, the similarity between the two process starts and ends with the word &#8211; reading.</p>



<p>With speed reading you learn to go faster and faster; you are taking bits of information in but not all. You question if you are getting the full benefit. Your mind can play tricks and you are not sure how much you will benefit. According to the report on an authoritative site about PhotoReading, around 90% of people who engage with speed reading as their primary source of &#8216;reading faster&#8217; quit using the techniques in a few months. In addition, I have not heard of any recollection techniques other than just, memory recall.</p>



<p><strong>PhotoReading works differently</strong>. There are some key differences:</p>



<ol class="wp-block-list"><li>First of all, you can get a pre-learning mind programming course (which you can use with the course), this programs your mind into complete positive acceptance that learning a new technique will work for you.</li><li>PhotoReading trains your mind to be in a completely relaxed state, so your mind is positive and then your posture, breathing and physical state are all tuned, ready to engage.</li><li>You will be fixed on the book, turning a page a second, just regular relaxed flipping and allowing your whole mind to receive the information; your conscious mind is not processing and filtering what is learnt (this again is something that can slow down speed readers who are learning). Therefore, the whole brain is engaged in this process and not just the left sphere.</li><li>Once you have finished reading a book, you engage in a post-reading process called Activation. There are several variations of this, all designed to trigger off the information you have absorbed.</li></ol>



<p>As you go through the steps of PhotoReading you will find there are extra pre-learning and post-learning steps in the process. They are all designed to help you understand the structure of what you are reading, the context, the key elements, recalling them, bringing them to life, engaging the whole brain in the process and being confidence in what you read is what you learn.</p>



<p>The retention rate is far higher with PhotoReaders as well, those who use it, continue with it.</p>



<p>The time it takes to read a book of average size; maybe the same (even with all the extra processes involved in PhotoReading), but the recollection of information with PhotoReading is considerably higher, the results are staggering.</p>



<p>It is a new whole way of learning to read. It is not a staged process as this article mentions earlier, but it is a way of seeing the whole picture in one go with the &#8216;building blocks&#8217; for seeing the structure, theme, and key points.</p>

<p>There are some additional ways in which this technique is immensely powerful. There is synoptic reading, this is a way of learning a whole new subject &#8211; using a wide variety of sources to get to grips with new information quickly and to the point. There is student learning (this overlaps with synoptic reading) where new subjects can be learnt along with key revision areas. Instead, you might state your desired experience as &#8220;a rewarding and fulfilling work experience that meets or exceeds my needs and expectations.&#8221; Always make sure you know what you mean by the words you choose. The key to a good goal statement is to communicate positive images and feelings that your mind can actualize.</p>

<p>So how does it work? &nbsp;Well, it uses Neuro Linguistic Programming {<em>NLP</em> a name that encompasses the three most influential components involved in producing human experience: <em>neurology</em>, language and<em>programming}&nbsp;</em>to help retrain the brain. &nbsp;It is used by people and businesses who are into personal development and are self aware that they need or want to make positive changes.</p>



<p>This means that Paul Scheele uses whole mind learning and NLP to bring about change.</p>



<p>You put your recording or MP3 player at the ready, you put your headphones on (it needs headphones and a quiet location) and then relax and press the play button.</p>

<p>The Paraliminal recording starts with Paul Scheele bringing you into a very relaxed state of being before he starts to work his genius.</p>



<p>The image above with the brain&#8217;s hemispheres and what each half does (yes it is over simplistic, but it makes a point) shows that if you can use mental programming to be both creative and logical, you get a ‘whole’ brain experience.  So what does this mean for the Paraliminal recordings?</p>



<p>To demonstrate exactly how it works, I am going to use one of the most popular titles in the series of recordings, the Self Esteem Supercharger.</p>



<p>This title is designed to help you &#8220;Gain profound confidence and feel great about yourself&#8221;. &nbsp;Paul combines unique 3D sound recording, holosync (binaural beats) techniques, NLP principles and whole mind learning to help you get the &#8220;profound confidence&#8221;.</p>



<p>After Paul gets you into a relaxed state he then starts on the reprogramming. &nbsp;He does this by splitting the messages that come out of your headphone. &nbsp;Out of the left ear you will start to hear positive affirmations, logical and straight messages carefully designed to be positive positives and not negative positives (email para@lifetools.com to find out further information about this). &nbsp;This is easily understood and absorbed by that side of the mind. &nbsp;Then in the right ear he starts to craft a story, a creative message for which the right side of the brain can accept easily. &nbsp;This message is designed and complimentary with the left ear message. &nbsp;Hence whole mind learning.</p>



<p>However, this is the <strong>GENIUS</strong> <em>part</em>…</p>



<p>Paul starts by letting you hear the left ear message clearly and then, breaking off, starts on the right ear message, so you can start to hear both the logical affirmation, the the creative story, back to the positive message and then back to the artistic message. &nbsp;This alternates UNTIL Paul starts to overlap the messages, and then the brain reacts! &nbsp;It wants to control what it hears, it has to understand otherwise the recording will not work, and that is just a myth. &nbsp;The brain fights and then it ends up loosing the fight and you shut down as the brain goes into a far deeper state of relaxation.</p>

<p>To demonstrate this, I have edited a 30 second episode, from exactly the same place in the recording, so you can hear (without the use of headphones), the left side message, then the right side message, then both messages as they overlap more.  You may hear faintly in the first 2 recordings a little of the other message overlap, but it will be far fainter than the main message.</p>
